80+ years of successROund Table achievements

Since Round Table began in 1927, our members have helped to save thousands of lives in dozens of countries, and have connected millions of people on every continent in the world.

What’s the secret of this success? Without doubt it is ordinary Round Table members doing extraordinary things.

Every day of every week, somwhere there is a member of Round Table working hard to put something back into his local community.

It could be walking the Great Wall of China for sponsorship to pay for new hospital equipment, or mowing an elderly person's lawn - however large or small the activity, members everywhere are doing things, day in day out, to improve their neighbours' lives.

Carl Bradley, 40, has been a member at Yarborough Round Table for almost 17 years. He sums up the sense of achievement he has felt from being involved in the Round Table:

"The community work I've done with Round Table turned out to be a fantastic life experience for me.  The team work and banter at events is what Round Table is all about, it has helped me to develop new skills personally and, above all, the sense of achievement each year is impossible to describe."

Visit any Round Table club in the country, and you will find a success story that makes its members proud. It is a pattern that is repeated internationally: from rebuilding schools in Sri Lanka to supporting communities hit by an earthquake in Italy, Round Table’s achievements are evident on a global scale.

But perhaps its biggest achievement is that more than 80 years after its founder Louis Marchesi held the first Round Table meeting, it is still going strong, still relevant, and offering fun and friendship to a new generation.
